Jodie Turner-Smith joined her co-star Amandla Stenberg on the red carpet for the launch event of Disney+’s new series, ‘The Acolyte’ at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Known for her bold sartorial choices, Jodie opted for a stunning Haute Couture piece, choosing an Armani Privé Spring 2019 blue sequin dress.
There were a few changes made from the original look as the illusion panel on the dress appeared to be dyed a shade too dark, making it conspicuously visible.
Additionally, the dress originally featured a floral detailed shoulder, which was notably absent.
While some might miss this embellishment, the decision to remove it complemented Jodie’s penchant for edgier styles and suited the event’s tone.
The style of the dress allowed it to stand out on its own, making the Bulgari necklace seem somewhat superfluous, though Jodie admirably toned down her usual over accessorising for the evening.
Known for frequently changing her hairstyles, Jodie sported a mullet look for this event, which, while daring, did not resonate as well with me.
Overall, her appearance was a testament to her ability to balance elegance with a touch of avant-garde flair, even if some elements were less successful than others.
