Maria Bakalova made her return to Cannes Film Festival where she was promoting her new film, ‘The Apprentice’ on Monday.
We will never forget her appearance back in 2021, so I’m glad she had the opportunity to redeem herself this year.
One thing we learned from her 2021 awards season run is that the actress loves a fairy-tale-like voluminous gown, and three years on, her love for romantic gowns is still apparent.
When I saw her in this Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Spring 2016 gown, the first thing to come to mind was Angelina Jolie’s doodled wedding gown, but in this case the overlapping printed drape imbues an artistic flair.
The problem I have with this gown is the bandage, dressing-like accents on the bodice.
When you look at the runway, you’re instantly grateful that a modification was made.
But my feeling is, since you were already there, why not remove it entirely?
Margins are very fine when it comes to making or breaking a look, and in this case that pink ribbon breaks it for me.
