Teyana Taylor Wore The Blonds To The 2024 Met Gala

Teyana Taylor Wore The Blonds To The 2024 Met Gala

I know there was a fear that the 2024 Met Gala was going to be a floral fest, but when it comes to Teyana Taylor’s red velvet rose applique gown from the archives of The Blonds, a rose isn’t just a rose.

What I love about this outing is how the look was obviously on theme, and beautifully constructed – as we expect any corseted look from The Blonds to be – while nodding to her 2018 track, ‘Rose In Harlem,’ which was inspired by another Harlem native, the late Tupac Shakur, who famously wrote a poem called, ‘The Rose That Grew from Concrete.’

The mysterious nature of the colour suits her style sensibilities, however, the blond doesn’t work for me even if it was a nod to the label’s designer, Phillipe Blond.
