The fashion collab that’s about to take over our feeds this Fashion Week season? Dior and Stone Island. And let us tell you why.
Collaborations are a word often overused in the fashion industry. Yet, it feels like we rarely get offered a mashup that’s actually worth our attention. Enter Dior Men’s Creative Director Kim Jones, who introduces a partnership between the French Maison and none other than Italian outerwear specialist Stone Island. And we are seated!
Masters of craftsmanship and the art of menswear, these two powerhouses have united forces to create a capsule collection that hardly needed an introduction. No teasers, spoilers, or warming up for what was about to come—on a Monday morning in May, streetwear fans were graced with the news. Something tells us that from the Euros to Fashion Week, we’ll be seeing these co-creations everywhere this summer.
“A shared passion for perfection and excellence in processes and clothing shapes the legacy of Christian Dior and that of Massimo Osti, the founder of Stone Island,” said Dior’s press release. “In the collection, the romance, rigour and history of the Parisian haute couture atelier meets that of the northern Italian mastery of machine processes and meticulous functional detailing. In the coming together of clothing, a parallel is drawn between the two in terms of savoir-faire; it is the romance, rigour and meticulousness of both that defines masculine clothing today at Dior: this is the know-how of now.”
The Stone Island x Dior collection is now available in Selfridges, and will hit Dior boutiques and the Dior webstore on Thursday 4 July.
