This afternoon marked the much-anticipated beginning of what promises to be an unforgettable press tour, as Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande graced the red carpet for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The Eiffel Tower, a beacon of Parisian elegance, found itself sharing the spotlight with these two fashion icons. With their sartorial choices, both ladies confirmed the hints we’ve been following: a tour defined by green for Cynthia and pink for Ariana.
Cynthia Erivo’s appearance was nothing short of show-stopping. The British actress donned a custom Louis Vuitton green satin bustier gown. This striking dress featured 3D double-folded details on the skirt, imbuing it with an avant-garde elegance that only Cynthia could pull off with such grace and aplomb. She took the monochromatic theme to greater heights, accessorizing with an LV green coated boxy hat and LV metallic leather pumps. Her eye makeup and nails were also meticulously matched to her dress, creating a cohesive and stunning ensemble.

Not to be outdone, Ariana Grande stepped out in an equally enchanting outfit. She wore a bubblegum pink Thom Browne dress adorned with pink bow accents and complemented by pristine white gloves. The look was reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance, which leads me to believe that the icons style might have been an inspiration. The similarity to the 1955 Norman Parkinson print “Audrey Hepburn with Flowers II” was so uncanny, that I have a feeling this classic image could have very well been on Thom Browne’s vision board for Ariana’s look.
Completing Ariana’s outfit were dainty pink and white Thom Browne pumps with a brogue outlook, perfectly balancing modern chic with vintage charm. I love how her look was a nod to classic Hollywood glamour, reimagined for today.

As the world watches, this press tour is set to be a dazzling display of style and sophistication. Both Cynthia and Ariana have set a high bar with their “(un)official” opening looks, I have to say I am still eagerly anticipating what the rest of the tour will bring. Their bold colour choices and impeccable styling promise a series of unforgettable fashion moments.
