Dior Dressed Lady Gaga & Aya Nakamura For The Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura were two of the main performers at the Olympics Opening Ceremony in Paris on Friday, both dressed in stunning Dior creations.

Lady Gaga performed on the bank of the River Seine, delivering a mesmerizing rendition of ‘Mon Truc en Plume’ as a tribute to the legendary French ballerina Zizi Jeanmaire.

Zizi Jeanmaire first performed the song in 1961 at London’s Alhambra Theatre, donning a black costume by her friend Yves Saint Laurent. This historical connection led Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello to publish and then delete an Instagram post.

While many expected Gaga to wear Saint Laurent for this tribute, she was dressed in Dior Haute Couture. Her outfit featured a black feathered jacket over a black satin bustier and panties, complemented by a black and pink skirt embroidered with feathers (collected during birds’ moults) and sequins.

By the performance’s end, Gaga shed the skirt, continuing with a striking white feather pompom.

Aya Nakamura, renowned for her fusion of Afrobeats, Caribbean zouk, and Malian heritage, gave a powerful performance accompanied by a live band from the French Republican Guard. She delivered a captivating mashup of her hits ‘Pookie’ and ‘Djadja,’ showcasing her resilience amid recent controversies.

Aya stepped onto the stage in a breathtaking Dior Haute Couture asymmetrical gold feather and silk dress styled with Dior gladiator-style shoes.

Both performers’ dancers were also adorned in Dior, adding a cohesive and elegant touch to both visually stunning performances.
