Elis Kiss will be the editor-in-chief of Vogue Greece, Kathimerini Media, who publishes the magazine, announced Tuesday. She is succeeding top editor Thaleia Karafyllidou.
Kiss first joined the publication when it relaunched in 2019 as fashion features director following a licensing agreement between Nees Kathimerines Ekdoseis and Vogue’s publisher Condé Nast. She began her career as an editorial assistant at the International Herald Tribune in Paris and served as fashion critic Suzy Menkes’ assistant.
A previous version of the magazine, Vogue Hellas, launched in 2000 but shuttered in 2012 following publisher Lyberis Publications filing for bankruptcy amid advertiser pullback during the country’s economic crisis.
Kiss will be tasked with growing the magazine’s readership and reach as well as establishing the publication as a household name through print editions, strong social media engagement and participation at events including the fashion conference Change Makers.
