Katy Perry’s look for the Grand Opening Ceremony for the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center reflected her willingness to experiment with her style. However, I struggled to get on board with it.
The Sportmax Fall 2024 strapless dress is undoubtedly contemporary, but the exposed Velcro detail detracts from its overall impact for me, feeling out of place and almost like an error in application if we didn’t have the runway look for reference.
Also, the cream dress paired with the Sportmax thonged, open-toe white boots created a visual disconnect. The boots are striking and modern, but there is no harmony with the dress. A cream and white combination isn’t my favourite, but it can work, but here, it feels mismatched rather than complementary.
The Sportmax cat-eye sunglasses are a stylish touch, adding a bit of flair and personality to the look. However, they are not enough to salvage the outfit as a whole.
