Angelina Jolie’s first official appearance at the 2024 Venice Film Festival was nothing short of spectacular as she promotes her new Netflix film, ‘Maria’, where she portrays the iconic soprano Maria Callas under the direction of Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín.
Arriving by boat via the docks of the Hotel Excelsior, Angelina exuded a sense of classic Hollywood glamour wearing a Saint Laurent sheer sleeveless V-neck dress made from fluid silk which immediately captured everyone’s attention at the photocall.
The dress’ elegant silhouette and the way it effortlessly draped over her frame were simply stunning. There’s something about the way the fabric moved with her that added a touch of understated sophistication.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve noticed that Angelina has a strong affinity for earthy tones, particularly shades of brown. This choice felt reminiscent of her style choices at the 2013 Women in the World Summit and the 2021 ‘Eternals’ LA premiere. These looks have consistently showcased her preference for deep, warm hues that complement her natural beauty.
Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of this shade of blonde Angelina. It lacks the depth and richness that we’ve come to associate with her usual dark, mysterious locks. Yet, this shade of brown in her dress beautifully offset her lighter hair, adding a necessary warmth and depth to her overall appearance. It’s a balancing act, and Angelina, ever the style icon, manages to pull it off with grace.
To complete her look, Jolie opted for Saint Laurent Dune slingback pumps.
