Catherine O’Hara Wore Oscar de la Renta To The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

After seemingly avoiding black throughout the press tour for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, Catherine O’Hara finally delivered a stunning red carpet moment at the Venice Film Festival premiere wearing a black custom Oscar de la Renta woven leather column gown, accented with florals and exaggerated hips—a bold choice that was anything but predictable.

While most of the photos from the event failed to capture the gown’s full glory, this particular shot, although slightly blown out, offers a full view of the off-shoulder flourishes. These details are a crucial part of the ensemble, adding an otherworldly feel while also paying homage to the extravagant style of her character, Delia Deetz.

I remember nitpicking the execution of Jessica Chastain’s Oscar de la Renta skin-toned layer under her floor length dress worn to the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.  But I must say, this time they nailed it. The layering is seamless, adding depth and dimension to the gown without distracting from its stunning silhouette. The woven leather adds a modern, edgy twist, while the floral accents soften the look, creating a perfect balance between boldness and femininity.

If I could change one thing, it would be Catherine’s hair as I feel that an updo would have been a more polished choice

Cartier jewels completed the look, adding a touch of classic elegance that perfectly balanced the avant-garde nature of the gown.
