Nicole Kidman made her first appearance at the 2024 Venice Film Festival this morning for the photocall of her latest film, ‘Babygirl’.
As always, Nicole brought her signature blend of elegance and poise to the event, wearing a Bottega Veneta black V-neck dress from the Pre-Fall 2024 collection. The dress was the epitome of understated sophistication—simple yet undeniably chic, with a playful twist that set it apart.
However, I do have a minor gripe with this look: the hair. More specifically, the placement of her ponytail, which unfortunately obscures the most intriguing detail of the dress—the twist detail on the shoulders. This unique feature is what makes the dress stand out, and it deserved to be more visible. A sleeker hairstyle or an updo might have highlighted this detail more effectively, allowing the dress to fully shine.
That said, I know some might be raising their eyebrows at the choice of footwear—white Bottega Veneta Cha Cha mules with a black dress. But I, for one, love the retro vibe they bring to the look. The mules add an unexpected touch of vintage flair that complements the simplicity of the dress without overshadowing it.
