Dua Lipa, a former fashion darling, hit the red carpet ahead of her performance at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas—but her look left much to be desired.
Over the years, we’ve seen some questionable outfits at this festival, but this might be one of the more forgettable ones, especially coming from someone who used to take the red carpet by storm.
To be honest, it feels like Dua’s connection with fashion has waned, as lately, her outfits have lacked the inspiration and excitement that once defined her. This mild attempt at gothic fashion is just another example.
The top half of her look—a vest from Ann Demeulemeester’s Spring 2006 collection embellished and layered over a chainmail bra—had potential. It could have been a bold moment. But the overall effect was dulled by the bland, uninspired skirt that completely diluted the edgy vibe she seemed to be going for.
There’s no doubt that Dua has the ability to make a statement with her fashion, but this felt like a half-hearted attempt.
For someone who can command attention in so many ways, it’s a shame to see her style evolve into something so underwhelming. Here’s hoping she finds that spark again soon.
