Lupita Nyong’o delivered a red carpet double feature on Sunday at the Toronto Film Festival, where she attended the premiere of her new film, ‘The Wild Robot’ before presenting Cate Blanchett with the Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award at the TIFF Tribute Awards.
In a rare move, Lupita wore the same hairstyle for both events.
The Wild Robot Premiere
Lupita’s custom Del Core gown instantly brought back memories of her iconic Prada gown from the 2014 Oscars. The delicate tulle fabric and open neckline reminded me of that unforgettable moment when she glided across the stage as an Oscar winner. Once again, Lupita twirled down the red carpet, showing off the layers of her gown. While the dress appeared sheer in some photos, Del Core revealed that the top layer was a pale sage tulle with a hint of apple green coming through from underneath. The colour combination was mesmerising against her skin, and I’m absolutely obsessed with how the hues elevated her already ethereal presence.
De Beers jewels added a touch of sparkle to this romantic look, cementing it as one of my favourite looks from the actress.
TIFF Tribute Awards
Later in the evening, Lupita turned heads in a custom chocolate brown Gucci gown for the TIFF Tribute Awards. While I’m usually hesitant about dark colours on her, the sequins and sheer panels in this dress transformed it into an absolute win. Paired with a Gucci Bamboo 1947 mini top handle bag, it echoed a trend we’ve seen with other stars like Zhang Ziyi, who carried the same bag earlier this weekend. It seems this accessory has become a staple for the brand’s custom looks.
While both ensembles were stunning, the green Del Core gown steals the show for its nostalgic connection, vibrant colour, and flawless styling. Lupita proves once again that she’s a red carpet queen, effortlessly blending glamour with grace.
