Prada made a commanding presence at this year’s Toronto Film Festival, with a series of standout looks gracing the red carpet. Here’s a rundown of the key outfits from the weekend.
Nightbitch Premiere
Following her 2022 premiere for ‘Disenchanted,’ Amy Adams returned to the red carpet in a custom Prada blue off-the-shoulder dress, embellished with metal and crystal details—a nod to the Miu Miu Fall 2009 collection. The dress exudes timeless elegance, perfect for Amy, showcasing Prada’s mastery of referencing past collections while creating classic red carpet looks. Cartier jewels complete her look.
Eden Premiere
Vanessa Kirby wore a Prada red tec satin strapless dress with basque construction and train paired with silver leather sandals and Cartier jewels. While I love this shade of red for Ron Howard’s thriller, looking at the dress, the bodice could have done with a little bit more work, and the fabric from the waist down could have benefitted from another run through the steamer.
Variety TIFF Step & Repeat
For her second Prada look from the Fall 2024 collection, the British actress wore a black chevron blazer, cashmere sweater, and blue silk skirt. While individually intriguing, the combination felt mismatched, with the black background drowning out most of the ensemble.
The Life of Chuck Premiere
Chiwetel Ejiofor nailed his look with a sleek black-on-black Prada suit, finished off with Prada monk strap shoes. Simple, chic, and effortlessly sharp.
The Life of Chuck Premiere
At the press event, he wowed again, this time in a Prada tan cashmere cardigan, black t-shirt, and trousers—an ensemble that felt both relaxed and refined.
The Return Premiere
Juliette Binoche’s black tec satin column Prada dress, adorned with floral and crystal shawl drapes, was all about understated elegance. The intricate detailing elevated the classic silhouette, making it one of the weekend’s standout looks.
The Order
The upcoming Fall season has ignited my obsession with this shade of khaki green, so naturally I’m in love with Tye Sheridan’s Prada suit. Pairing a khaki green suit with a pink shirt was a surprising combination that worked. This was a definite win.
Caught by the Tides & TIFF Tribute Awards
Zhao Tao looked regal in her Prada satin dress with crystal buttons for the premiere.
TIFF Tribute Awards
The Prada cherry pink double satin dress with scarf detail has a feeling of familiarity about it because of Prada consistent use of this shade of pink.
Overall, Prada brought variety and sophistication to the Toronto Film Festival. While not every ensemble was a hit, Prada once again proved its red carpet dominance.
