Stacy Martin Wore Louis Vuitton To ‘The Brutalist’ Venice Film Festival Photocall

Stacy Martin, like her co-star Emma Laird, chose to showcase two distinct Louis Vuitton looks while promoting their new film, ‘The Brutalist,’ at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday.

Photocall

For the photocall, Stacy opted for a beige Louis Vuitton tailored blazer dress paired with the brand’s iconic black leather Star Trail ankle boots. At first glance, this look seemed promising. The blazer dress was sharp and sophisticated, perfectly balancing femininity with a touch of androgyny, while the boots added a rugged edge that kept the outfit from feeling too formal.

However, the addition of a black and white damier belt felt random (despite it being part of the runway look), an afterthought, and threw off the overall cohesion of the outfit.

If she had gone with a black blazer dress the belt would have made more sense to me.

Premiere

The premiere look was where things really took a turn. From the waist up, Stacy’s Louis Vuitton gown was stunning. The sand-coloured gown featured a beautifully pleated, draped bustier that accentuated her figure and radiated elegance. For a moment, I thought we were in for a red carpet triumph.

Then, I saw the skirt. Much like Sebastian’s shock in ‘The Little Mermaid’ when Ariel serenades Prince Eric, my jaw dropped. The vision was there, but the execution failed to deliver the sophistication that the gown’s upper half promised. Stacy deserved better than this.

Her look was completed with Louis Vuitton’s Tumbler High Jewelry necklace set, a matching ring, and the Tumbler bracelet from their Fine Jewelry collection, which added a luxurious touch. Unfortunately, even these exquisite pieces couldn’t save what should have been a magical moment.

Sadly, this was two misses from Stacy for me. But I’m kinda of not surprised, as I can’t remember the last time she sold a Louis Vuitton look to me.
