French actress Juliette Binoche, revered for her performances in films like ‘Chocolat’ and ‘The Lovers of Pont Neuf’, was honoured at the 2024 Malaga French Film Festival in Spain on Friday. As the festival celebrated its 30th anniversary, Juliette’s presence was a particular highlight, with festival director Sullivan Benetier underscoring the significance of having the acclaimed actress in attendance.
Known for her understated, effortlessly chic approach to fashion, Juliette has never been tied to one particular brand, but she often gravitates towards French designers. While Dior has been her go-to for recent red carpet events, this time she opted for the bohemian charm of Chloé, embracing the ethos of Creative Director Chemena Kamali’s Fall 2024 collection.
For this look, Kamali took cues from Chloé’s ’70s archives, specifically Karl Lagerfeld’s era at the helm, which focused on feminine, free-spirited silhouettes. Juliette wore a beautiful pairing of tailored black trousers and a soft, romantic blouse that drew upon these influences. The floral-embroidered lace blouse, featuring tiered ruffled layers, added a light, bohemian air to her otherwise structured ensemble.
What makes this look stand out is the way it balances formality and romance. The structured trousers ground the outfit, while the loose, frothy blouse creates a delicate contrast, providing a touch of whimsy and nostalgia. However, as with any look from Juliette, the true magic lies in the effortlessness. She has a way of wearing clothes that makes it seem as if she simply threw it on without a second thought, exuding a natural confidence that many attempt but few achieve.
