After all the haute couture glamour from the 2024 Academy Museum Gala, you might think we’d be ready for a breather—but Sofia Carson has us ready for more. Stepping onto the red carpet for the ‘Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration’ event at Sala Sinopoli in Rome on Sunday, Sofia looked nothing short of breathtaking.
Gone are the days of the frothy tulle gowns that once defined her red carpet appearances. In their place, we’re seeing a much more refined, sophisticated Sofia. For this event, she opted for a stunning emerald green duchess satin Elie Saab Fall 2023 Haute Couture gown, a striking choice that’s both regal and timeless. The gown’s asymmetric stole and dramatic bow detail added volume and flair, yet Sofia skilfully managed not to be overwhelmed by the bold silhouette.
The structure of the gown, with its overskirt and grand bow, could easily dominate someone less experienced on the red carpet, but Sofia handled the look with confidence and elegance. Her posture and poise let the dress shine while she remained the focal point, proving that she has fully embraced this more grown-up mode of glamour.
In keeping with the luxurious vibe of her ensemble, Sofia paired the gown with diamond and emerald jewels—an obvious, yet perfect choice. And yes, I’m choosing to ignore the black platform shoes, which felt slightly out of step with the rest of the look, but it is a minor quibble in an otherwise stunning appearance.
Sofia continues to evolve her style, and this gown was a perfect reflection of her transformation into a more mature, sophisticated presence on the red carpet which was perfect for the occasion.
