Blue Ivy Carter attended the Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ at the Dolby Theatre on Monday in Hollywood, California. At just twelve years old, she’s already leaving her mark, lending her voice to Princess Kiara, the eldest daughter of Queen Nala, who is, of course, voiced by her mum, Beyonce.
This must have been a full-circle moment for Blue Ivy, who twinned with her mother back in 2019 when she was just seven years old, both dressed in McQueen. Now, standing taller than her mum on the red carpet, Blue Ivy wore a golden gown fit for a modern Disney princess. Designed by Christian Siriano, the custom creation exudes all the regality you’d expect for such an occasion.
Blue Ivy looks beautiful. The honey-hued goddess braids elevate the look, adding to the gilded, golden African fairy-tale vibe. It’s an outfit befitting her role, her heritage, and the significance of this event.
I know some people might look at this and think, “But she’s only 12.” But this is Hollywood. This look was undoubtedly signed off by her parents and a team of professionals. It’s a moment crafted with intent, so to critique it through a lens of traditional childhood norms is a bit futile in my humble opinion.
Blue Ivy Carter is growing up in a world where her every move is under a spotlight, so please be respectful in the comments.
