Hoyeon graced the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and I can confidently say this moment was everything.
Between Nicola Coughlan and Hoyeon, the pannier skirt is undeniably back en vogue. While I adored Nicola’s interpretation, Hoyeon has taken this trend to a whole new level in her custom Louis Vuitton grey satin scuba gown with an asymmetrical top and double-layered skirt.
The structure, the sleekness of the fabric, and the perfectly uncreased silhouette are a marvel to behold. It’s rare to see a gown with this much volume retain such a polished finish. Every detail of this look has been executed with precision, making it a standout not only for the evening but for the year.
When it comes to Louis Vuitton ambassadors, Hoyeon stands in a league of her own. Besides Jennifer Connelly, there’s no one else as consistently impressive. In fact, I would go so far as to declare this her best look of the year. With so many 10 out of 10 moments to her name, including her unforgettable Venice Film Festival appearance, this gown has effortlessly taken the top spot.
If this doesn’t cement her as a contender for BDOTY, I truly don’t know what will.
