Thai actresses and real-life best friends Sarocha Chankimha and Rebecca Patricia Armstrong, affectionately known as Freen and Becky, made a joint appearance at the ‘Moon’ premiere during the Red Sea International Film Festival on Wednesday.
But while their friendship was on full display, their styles couldn’t have been more distinct.
Sarocha Chankimha was pure, unadulterated glamour in a Zuhair Murad Fall 2024 gown. The gloved design, with its dramatic cut-outs and embellishments resembling cascading rain and hailstones, brought an element of drama to the red carpet. This was high-octane glamour, the kind that demands attention.
In stark contrast, Becky channeled her role as a Chanel ambassador with a look that felt like an ode to the house’s storied history. Dressed in a long-sleeve black turtleneck dress from Chanel’s Fall 2024 collection, she added runway-inspired touches with a statement Chanel necklace, CC earrings, and other Chanel accessories. It was understated yet impactful, a quiet nod to Coco herself.
Some might say it looked like they were heading to two different events. And to some degree, I would agree. But in an odd way, their contrasting styles balanced each other out.
Sarocha brought the show-stopping glamour, while Becky offered a more subdued, classic elegance. One could argue that this divergence reflects Becky’s commitment to her ambassadorial duties. From her Instagram posts, it’s clear that she takes her relationship with Chanel seriously, and this look encapsulated that dedication.
Together, their looks told a story of friendship and individuality, proving that even on the red carpet, there’s room for contrast. It’s refreshing to see two stars embrace their unique aesthetics while standing side by side.
