Virginie Efira, serving on the jury for this year’s Marrakech International Film Festival, has once again proven her loyalty to Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent. With appearances at the Opening Ceremony, the screening of ‘The Order,’ and the Tribute to Sean Penn, it’s no surprise that she turned to the designer twice—just as she did last year.
Opening Ceremony
For the Opening Ceremony, Virginie opted for her favourite colour—black. Her Saint Laurent long-sleeve velvet gown was sumptuous and evocative. While some might argue the look could benefit from a touch of sparkle or embellishment, would you change your mind if I told you it was backless? This revelation transforms the gown from simple to seductive. Yes, the dress leans minimalist, but that’s precisely its charm. It’s the kind of understated confidence that has become Virginie’s hallmark. No frills, no fuss, just a perfect execution of quiet elegance.
Tribute to Sean Penn
On day two, Virginie stepped outside her usual comfort zone with a white long-sleeve dress. While still Saint Laurent, this choice was endlessly refreshing, and felt like a breath of fresh air. Some of the draped details were unfortunately blown out by flash photography, but even so, this look carried the same understated elegance we’ve come to expect from Virginie. It’s simple yet deliberate, refined yet impactful.
Virginie’s approach to the red carpet continues to be one of quiet sophistication. She doesn’t need over-the-top details or trend-chasing designs to leave an impression. Instead, she remains steadfast in her love for clean lines, luxurious fabrics, and the timeless allure of Saint Laurent.
