Ariana Grande kick started her first awards season, receiving the Rising Star Award at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Awards on Friday for her standout performance in Wicked.
The actress marked the occasion in a custom Louis Vuitton aqua bonded double satin strapless gown. The colour continues her love for pale tone, while the futuristic vision of the design made a bold statement. However, I can’t help but question the structure of the skirt. With two noticeable dents on either side, I find myself wondering why the fabric wasn’t more rigid to maintain the ball-like silhouette.
Then again, nearly every photo of the gown—including those shared by her stylist, Mimi Cuttrell—shows the same dents. Was this an intentional design choice? I’m still undecided on the intention but can’t say I am sold either way. What do you think?
I just hope this isn’t going to be one-note colour wise for Ariana, as I don’t think they do her any favours.
