Kristen Stewart goes sheer in Chanel for 'Love Me' LA screening

Kristen Stewart stepped out at the DGA Theater Complex in Los Angeles for the special screening and photocall of Love Me, but something about her Chanel Spring 2025 look gave me an overwhelming sense of déjà vu.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m not completely opposed to a sheer moment, and Kristen has always been one to make the brand’s signature tweeds and ethereal layers feel a little more rock ‘n’ roll. But this monogram cardigan and trouser set? It feels eerily familiar, like a remix of looks she’s worn before.

Which leads me to the bigger question: has this long-standing Chanel-Kristen collaboration started to feel a little… stale? Or is it simply a testament to the fact that she knows what works for her and sticks to it?

Either way, change is coming. With Matthieu Blazy set to take over as Chanel’s artistic director, I can’t help but wonder if he’ll bring the same innovation and modernity that he infused into Bottega Veneta. If anyone can breathe new life into Chanel’s aesthetic—and by extension, Kristen’s red carpet wardrobe—it’s him; hopefully.

For now, Kristen remains loyal to her signature sheer, slouchy, and slightly undone Chanel aesthetic. But a little shake-up never hurt anyone, and I, for one, am excited to see what’s next.
