Selena Gomez Wore Ralph Lauren Collection To The 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards

Nothing signals the start of the new year on the red carpet quite like the annual Palm Springs International Film Awards. This year, we’re kicking things off with Selena Gomez, who is poised to dominate awards season thanks to her performance in Emilia Perez.

The actress, who was honoured with the Vanguard Award, stepped onto the red carpet with a look that signalled a fresh start.

Selena’s press tour for Emilia Perez is still etched in our memories, especially her unwavering devotion to black ensembles. But for this occasion, she embraced the phrase, “new year, new beginnings,” serving up a refreshing departure in a custom ivory Ralph Lauren Collection three-piece suit.

While oversized menswear tailoring—popularised by Saint Laurent’s Spring 2025 collection—was trending heavily at the end of last year, Selena’s decision to wear a slim-fit suit was a relief. It suited both her personal style and the refined elegance of the Palm Springs Film Awards.

As you know, I am unapologetically critical when it comes to hem lengths. While I don’t find Selena’s particularly egregious here, I personally would have taken it up an inch, especially given the custom nature of the design. Minor detail aside, this look was a strong way to set the tone for the season ahead.
