Ariana Grande received The Manitou Fund Virtuosos Award at the 2025 Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday, where her thematic colour of pink made a return to the red carpet.
For the occasion, she wore an Armani Privé Fall 2022 peony pink lace gown, fully embroidered with beaded floral appliqués, a tulle overlay, and Swarovski crystal straps. It was Glinda the Good Witch revisited—the only things missing were a wand and a crown.
If you thought we had seen the last of her Wicked-inspired pink phase, think again. Ariana is in full Oscars campaign mode, and what better way to subtly remind voters of her character than by draping herself in yet another rosy-hued masterpiece? It’s calculated, yes, but also clever.
Personally, I think this is one of her best looks from the Wicked promo tour so far. While it is undeniably twee, it feels more refined in comparison to her premiere looks. The intricate detailing and delicate beading elevate it beyond simple costume play.
Whether you love or loathe the pink parade, Ariana is committed, and at this point, I say when you can, lean into it.
