There were so many celebrities at the SNL50: The Anniversary Special, I’m blown away by how many stars showed up to celebrate this iconic show. It only goes to show what a special place SNL has in the hearts of so many. But, of course, we’re here to talk about the looks—and let me tell you, this red carpet was a mixed bag of hits, misses, and plenty of what were they thinking moments.
A Quite Night
Dressed in a black velvet Colleen Allen Fall 2025 dress with a scoop neckline, Ayo Edebiri kept it simple. But that choker? Meh. It’s giving… obligatory accessory, and unnecessary. I was hoping for something more playful from her a lá Emma Stone.
Styled by Danielle Goldberg.

Ethereal, But Make It… Meh
The Akris Spring 2025 mesh jacket and tiered organza maxi skirt were dreamy on the runway, but on Awkwafina, it didn’t quite land. It’s not her vibe, and it shows. Ethereal should float—this is falling flat.
Styled by Erica Cloud.

Fun, Floral, Fabulous, and Full of Sunshine
Claire Danes joined Blake Lively in the floral camp, wearing a bold yellow floral appliqué strapless dress from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2025 collection. It’s bright, and it’s fun.

Hall of Fame Material
Drew Barrymore nailed it. This Dolce & Gabbana white shirt, black satin cummerbund, and tuxedo trouser combo is refined, classic, and effortless. One of the best of the night—and one for her fashion Hall of Fame.
Styled by Lee Harris.

Retro Realness
Ego Nwodim took us back in time with this Marc Jacobs Fall 2024 look that’s giving all the retro vibes—and her styling dials it up to perfection. I adore those Gianvito Rossi Flavia sandals. Bernard James jewels completed her look.
Styled by Solange Franklin Reed.

Spring Has Sprung on this red carpet, again
Heidi Gardner is fully ready for spring, dressed in a Markarian Pre-Fall 2025 dress adorned with glistening gold, yellow, and orange sequins. Who cares that it’s February? We’re manifesting sunshine.
Styled by Britt Theodora.

Chocolate Decadence
Jenna Ortega stepped away from her usual black and gave us something rich and delicious in this Monse Fall 2025 cowl-neck draped satin gown. She looks like a melted truffle—and I mean that in the best way possible. Hearts On Fire jewels completed her look.
Styled by Enrique Melendez.

Trending Colour
Keke Palmer kept it simple and sleek in a brown Tom Ford halter keyhole gown. No notes—she’s cute, polished, and totally Keke.
Styled by Zoe Costello.

Groundhog Day, Year, Decade
Balenciaga? Check. Fitted silhouette? Check. So tight her cup spillth over? Check. So boring at this point. Kim Kardashian is officially stuck in a style loop with no escape.
Styled by Dani Levi.

Straight from the Pajama Drawer
Kristen Wiig’s Simone Rocha Spring 2025 sheer dress is giving… nightie. An actual nightie. There’s nothing fashionable here, but considering it’s a night celebrating comedy, maybe she’s in on the joke?
Styled by Karla Welch.

Meh
Lady Gaga gave us a one-shoulder gunmetal grey gown that’s as underwhelming by her standards. Let’s leave it at that.

Electric and Effortlessly Glam
Maya Rudolph doesn’t always go bold, but when she does, she delivers. This custom Gabriela Hearst electric blue layered gown with a floral statement shoulder is powerful. A perfect standout look of one of the SNL Hall of Famers.
Styled by Rebecca Grice.

Déjà Vu To Death
Natasha Lyonne looks fab in this Rodarte Fall 2024 dress, but can we please move on from this look (and versions of it)? I’ve seen it a million times already.

Golden Globes Glory Remains Unmatched
Quinta Brunson’s Roberto Cavalli at the Golden Globes was her moment so far this year. Sadly, this Balmain? Not it. It doesn’t flatter her figure, and it’s doing her no favours. Buccellati jewels and FOPE Pangoram collection earrings completed her look.
Styled by Jessica Paster.

Sheer Genius
Sabrina Carpenter dazzled in a sheer embellished Versace gown with just the right skin-tone layer to keep it illusion perfection. Sparkly, sexy, and totally Versace.
Styled by Jared Ellner.

Red Carpet Hit, Uber Ride Home Ready
Sarah Jessica Parker sparkled in a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2024 silver crystal mesh dress—very on theme. But with her Dolce & Gabbana double-breasted wool coat and crossbody Sicily bag, it feels like she’s posing before grabbing a cab home.
