Demi Moore was impossible to miss on the 2025 BAFTA Awards red carpet, and rightly so—she’s the Best Actress nominee for The Substance, and everyone’s expecting her to take home the award.
The actress, who has been sweeping up awards left and right this season, continued her fashion hot streak in a custom McQueen by Seán McGirr gown.
At first glance, this halter gown seems like a beautifully embellished creation, but take a closer look, and you’ll spot Demi’s clever nod to method dressing—a theme she’s been championing all awards season.
Just as her Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress at the Critics’ Choice Awards and her Dior gown at the DGAs mirrored her character, Elisabeth Sparkle, this McQueen masterpiece follows suit. Hidden within the abstract design are surreal depictions of faces and body parts, giving a subtle but chilling reference to the film’s gory themes. Creepy? A little, which is apt considering this is a horror film. Genius? Absolutely.
She styled the gown with a matching clutch, dazzling De Beers diamonds, and, of course, her signature long, sleek hair—because if it’s not broke, why fix it?
