One thing celebrities always complain about at events: “Where are the snacks?” Well, Emma Stone came prepared for the SNL50: The Anniversary Special, held at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York on Sunday night—because why wait for the after-party when you can bring your own popcorn to the red carpet?
The five-time SNL host opted for a custom red Louis Vuitton halter dress, complete with structured pockets filled with popcorn. Instantly, I’m transported back to her playful Easy A era—witty, charming, and never afraid to have some fun with fashion.
But was this just a cheeky snack moment, or was our girl Emma making a statement? Perhaps showing solidarity with the woman of the moment, Demi Moore, who famously said during her Golden Globes speech that she was once told she’d never be more than a “popcorn actress.” Or, as Julie said in the comments, the popcorn was a tribute to writer and film producer Lorne Michaels, who famously has a popcorn machine in his office. Either way, this look was both stylish and symbolic.
In her other hand, her date for the night—husband Dave McCary—looked dapper in a classic tuxedo.
And let’s talk about the hair. Emma continued to rock her freshly cropped pixie cut, which she debuted at the Golden Globes. Styled in her signature deep-auburn hue, this new ‘do is likely for her upcoming project, Yorgos Lanthimos’s Bugonia—and I’m already obsessed with her commitment to character.
Red sandals and a gorgeous red lip sealed the deal on this delightfully coordinated ensemble.
So, was Emma giving popcorn princess or popcorn powerhouse? Either way, I’m eating it up—literally and figuratively.
