Gwendoline Christie Wore Dior Men To The 'After This Death' Berlin Film Festival Premiere

Gwendoline Christie is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of red carpet fashion, and her appearance at the After This Death premiere during the Berlinale International Film Festival was no exception. Fresh off her striking look at the 2025 BAFTAs, the British actress turned heads once again—this time in Dior Men.

A front-row fixture at Dior Men’s shows, Gwendoline wasted no time claiming first dibs on Look 1 from the Fall 2025 collection: a black mock neck long sleeve knit paired with extreme wide cocoon-shaped trousers. The result? An unexpected, and undeniably chic ensemble.

As a fellow tall girl who has, on occasion, raided the menswear section in pursuit of the perfect trouser length, I completely understand the appeal. At 6’3”, Gwendoline is already a statuesque force, and these exaggerated proportions work because of her height. On anyone else, this could have drowned them out, but she carries it effortlessly.

What really sells this look is the balance. The minimal styling keeps it feeling clean and intentional, while her soft retro waves add just the right amount of contrast to the structured silhouette. It’s a blend of power and elegance—something Gwendoline excels at.

I adore this. But I also suspect this won’t be a universally beloved moment. Maybe it’s the Tall Girls Union bias, but to me, she made it work in a way very few could.

Update: Mikelle Street just informed me via Twitter that Gwendoline isn’t actually wearing trousers—she’s wearing a coat turned backward and tied at the waist. And with that knowledge, everything clicks into place. You can see the fold at the back of the coat and the collar positioned at the waistband.

This is exactly why I love fashion. There’s always more than meets the eye.
