Lucy Boynton attended the New York premiere of A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story at the Crosby Street Hotel on Tuesday, making a much stronger style statement than her 1930s-inspired school uniform moment at the London photocall.
This time, she turned to Chanel Pre-Fall 2025, opting for a tweed skirt suit. Now, the words “tweed skirt suit” might immediately conjure up images of something overly prim or, dare I say, frumpy—but not in Lucy’s world.
What makes this look stand out are the unexpected purple panels placed on a backdrop of fantasy tweed, creating a modernised ‘60s silhouette that fits perfectly within her signature aesthetic. It’s retro, but not costumey—elegant, yet playful.

And, as we’ve come to expect, Lucy didn’t stop her creative expression at the outfit and the boots. Her eye makeup was another moment of artistic flair, proving once again that for her, makeup isn’t just about enhancement—it’s about decoration, expression, and bending beauty norms in the most effortlessly cool way.
You may remember that Charlotte Casiraghi wore this same look to the Chanel Spring 2025 Haute Couture show last month.
