Before making her annual César Awards appearance on February 28, Marion Cotillard stopped by the Berlin Film Festival to promote her latest film, The Ice Tower. And as expected from the longtime Chanel ambassador, she delivered two very different but equally conversation-worthy looks from the French fashion house.
Photocall
Marion opted for a classic black Chanel Pre-Fall 2025 tweed dress—simple, timeless, but nothing groundbreaking. That’s where the accessories came in to inject some personality. A selection of Chanel Fine Jewelry necklaces added an edge, with the Première Edition Originale watch adding a touch of refinement.

But it was her choice of boots that really caught my attention. We first saw these over-the-knee boots on Vicky Krieps, but in true Marion fashion, she took things a step further by opting for the gold version. And honestly? That one detail elevated the entire look. Classic Chanel, but with that signature Cotillard cool factor.

Premiere
Then came the premiere, and with it, a more divisive fashion moment. Marion’s Chanel Spring 2025 Haute Couture ivory crepe and black velvet bustier gown had all the makings of a modern red carpet win—until we got to the sleeves.

The ivory taffeta ruffled bows felt overly fussy, detracting from what could have been an effortlessly chic minimalist moment. If this had been a sleek, strapless gown, I would’ve been fully on board.

That said, I can’t deny how much I adore the draped cowl back—it’s a subtle yet stunning detail that adds a hint of romance.
So, where do you stand? Sleeves or sleeveless?
