It had been a suitless start to 2025 for Hannah Einbinder on the red carpet—until this weekend, when she was honoured at the Human Rights Campaign’s 2025 Los Angeles Dinner with the HRC Visibility Award for her contributions to expanding LGBTQ+ representation on- and offscreen.
In a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when asked how she would describe her red carpet style, she answered: “Detail-oriented, tailored, and gentleman-like.” And while that aesthetic was very much her signature for a while, she took a slight detour this awards season, where Nicolas Ghesquière dressed her in Louis Vuitton looks that ranged from soft elegance to avant-garde sophistication. But this pinstripe suit? This is classic Hannah, back to her sartorial roots.
We’ve seen tailored looks dominate the red carpet in many forms. Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent oversized suits lean into femininity with a masculine edge, while Dolce & Gabbana embrace traditional menswear codes but sculpt them to enhance a feminine silhouette. Hannah’s approach sits outside these realms, choosing instead a charcoal grey, double-breasted pinstripe suit that masters masculine tailoring without compromise.
Some might find it a little too boxy, and I get it. I haven’t confirmed the designer yet, but my gut tells me this isn’t a suit designed with womenswear proportions in mind. The broader cut, slightly exaggerated shoulders, and straight-leg trousers suggest she may have opted for a traditional menswear suit rather than one reimagined for a female form.
Whether intentional or not, the effect is undeniable.
