When it comes to Selena Gomez and promoting Rare Beauty, red is officially her power colour.
Ever since her breathtaking Louis Vuitton moment at the 2022 Critics’ Choice Awards and her effortlessly chic Giambattista Valli dress worn to the Emilia Pérez Cannes Film Festival photocall last year, Selena has been proving time and time again that this fiery hue is her fashion sweet spot. And today was no exception.
Stepping out in SoHo, New York City, to promote her new Rare Beauty Bouncy Blush at the Corner Store, Selena turned heads in an all-red Magda Butrym ensemble that was equal parts bold and beautiful. The oversized blazer, ribbed bodysuit, and pièce de résistance—a floral-appliqué mini skirt—made for a striking statement.
The colour alone is electric, but it’s the floral detailing that truly elevates this look. Some might argue that the blazer’s proportions are overwhelming on her frame, but I personally love the 80s-inspired power dressing vibe. It adds drama, and Selena wears it with such ease that it feels intentional rather than overbearing.
To complete her monochrome moment, she paired the outfit with matching red pumps, EFFY Jewelry, and, of course, a swipe of Rare Beauty’s Devoted Kind Words Matte Lipstick in a bold red shade.
If anyone thought the end of awards season would mean the end of Selena’s style dominance, they were sorely mistaken.
