One thing you can never do? Predict a Timothée Chalamet red carpet moment. The A Complete Unknown actor kept us all on our toes once again, stepping onto the Oscars red carpet in a head-to-ankle butter yellow look—because of course he did.
This wasn’t just any suit, though. Timothée debuted the first custom Givenchy design by Sarah Burton, a double-breasted cropped leather jacket paired with matching trousers and a silk shirt. A leather suit is no easy feat, but if anyone can make it work, it’s Timothée. That said, I do wish the footwear choice had taken a page from Andrew Scott’s Etro moment at the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards—just something to elevate this bold colour even further.
As for the Bob Dylan connection? The singer frequently wore yellow, and the hue has appeared across his album promo materials. A subtle nod, but a clever one. Cartier jewels completed the look.
