Cynthia Erivo in Alaïa Spring 2025 Ariana Grande in Emporio Armani for 'Wicked: For Good' at CinemaCon 2025

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande returned to where it all began—CinemaCon—on day two of the convention to promote Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated second installment of the musical fantasy.

If you followed the first film’s tour, you’ll know it was a long one, so I doubt we’re in for another yearlong marathon. But after the massive success of Wicked, the excitement for this sequel is undeniable.

Last year, Cynthia and Ariana embraced their characters’ signature hues—green for Cynthia’s Elphaba, pink for Ariana’s Glinda. This time, they both opted for black. A coincidence? A subtle nod to the film’s darker tone? Or just two women deciding to forgo the obvious colour play? Whatever the reason, it was a shift worth noting.

Cynthia stepped out in a black semi-sheer Alaïa Spring 2025 peplum jumpsuit, keeping the dramatic runway ear chain, because Cynthia loves a bold accessory. And honestly? Anything that distracts from those ultra-long nails is a win. However, I can’t help but feel that the hood, while adding an edge, actually works against her stature rather than enhancing it.

Ariana, meanwhile, kept things simple yet playful in an Emporio Armani Fall 2025 black velvet strapless mini dress. The dropped waist corset, sheer panels, and ruffled full skirt added just enough drama while staying true to her signature sweet-meets-sophisticated aesthetic. The runway styling would have been fun, but it probably would not have been practical for someone as petite as Ariana.

Both looks felt muted—perhaps a reflection of a press tour that’s been a marathon.
