Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, and Joseph Quinn as the legendary Fab Four The Beatles CinemaCon

CinemaCon 2025 just delivered a major fashion and film crossover moment with the official announcement of The Beatles biopic, directed by Sam Mendes. The casting? A dream lineup of Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, and Joseph Quinn as the legendary Fab Four. Set to be released in April 2028, this ambitious project will take a unique approach, dedicating a separate film to each Beatle’s personal and musical journey.

Now, you know black isn’t my favourite colour, but I do love a cohesive boy band moment—and when you’re portraying the ultimate boy band, sartorial synergy is a must. The four actors made their debut as a unit in black ensembles. This casting feels like a carefully curated collection, where each actor brings a different yet complementary energy to the table. So, let’s break it down, fashion week-style.

Harris Dickinson (wearing Prada) as John Lennon
The intellectual cool of John Lennon lives on in Harris Dickinson, who exudes that effortlessly sharp yet slightly rebellious charm. Lennon was all about understated sophistication with a touch of bohemian nonchalance—think round glasses, crisp tailoring, and the kind of rockstar chic that only comes from being naturally cool. Prada’s minimalist yet refined aesthetic feels like a perfect match, hinting at how Dickinson’s Lennon might blend structured elegance with a free-spirited edge.

Paul Mescal (in Todd Snyder) as Paul McCartney
If there’s one Beatle synonymous with polished refinement, it’s Paul McCartney. Enter Paul Mescal, whose off-screen style leans effortlessly casual but whose red carpet appearances have a sleek, modern touch. Usually dressed in Gucci, the labels penchant for sharp tailoring with unexpected twists is a fitting choice, aligning with McCartney’s own evolution from mop-top cutie to suave, suit-clad icon. Expect Mescal’s McCartney to channel a classic, well-fitted look.

Barry Keoghan (in McQueen) as Ringo Starr
Ringo was the wildcard, both in personality and in style, often sporting playful patterns and a slightly offbeat, rock ‘n’ roll-meets-psychedelic aesthetic. Barry Keoghan, with his unpredictable fashion choices and fearless approach to dressing, is an inspired choice for the role. McQueen, known for its avant-garde tailoring and edgy details, captures that Ringo energy—bold, eccentric, and never afraid to take risks. Keoghan has always been one to experiment, so expect his Ringo to bring an unexpected but delightful fashion presence.

Joseph Quinn (in Marni) as George Harrison
George Harrison’s style was effortlessly laid-back yet deeply introspective, blending countercultural influences with a hint of spiritual eclecticism. Joseph Quinn, who has already displayed a penchant for fashion-forward choices, is well-placed to embody that mix of relaxed sophistication. His love for rich textures and artistic silhouettes aligns beautifully with Harrison’s aesthetic—think easy-going but thoughtful, a little boho with an edge of mystery.

And while April 2028 feels light-years away, I’m already envisioning four individual press tours. Harris in Prada, Paul in Gucci, Barry bouncing between McQueen and Burberry, and Joseph, given his recent front-row attendance, making a strong case for Givenchy.

This is a casting (and fashion moment) worth getting excited about. What do you think?
