Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, back in California after Queen Elizabeth’s funeral ceremonies, were recently spotted enjoying some soft rock at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Catching members of the royal family having fun at a non-royal or charity-related event seems surreal to me somehow (like can you imagine Kate Middleton at Coachella or King Charles at Six Flags?).

TMZ published photos of the Sussexes taking in the mellow acoustic jams of Millennial Jimmy Buffet, Jack Johnson, at a packed concert on October 5. (No, I will not be explaining this epithet further.) According to TMZ, Harry and Meghan watched the show from a special, cordoned section with 10 others, hugging and swaying along to the tunes like an almost normal married couple. Good for them!

Prince Harry and Meghan have been under more than their usual amount of scrutiny since Queen Elizabeth’s death. The British media in particular have kept an eagle eye on every move the Duchess of Sussex made during the mourning period and each ceremonial event. The suspicion is that all the media attention has been the reason Prince Harry has delayed the release of his upcoming memoir, and why their Netflix docuseries could be facing even more trouble. According to rumors, via The Cut, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been requesting major edits to the series, which was filmed at their home in Montecito, California, in hopes of downplaying some of what they’d said about King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, and their tense relationships with the rest of the family.

This seems like a lot of pressure, and I, for one, think they deserve a chill night out once in a while. Let Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live, for once.
