The ‘Elvis’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Wednesday (May 25) was a jam-packed affair, so here is the roundup from the attendees who joined Deepika Padukone, Sharon Stone and Rebecca Hall.
Elsa Hosk was living her best Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes life wearing a strapless gown from Valentino’s Fall 2022 Pink PP collection.
Even if you’re fatigued by this collection, you must admit that Elsa looks like a living doll in this gown, despite this appearing like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
If you are having a case of déjà Pink PP, that might be because Nicole Peltz-Beckham wore a similar dress to the 2022 Met Gala.
Messika jewels completed her look.
While all her peers are bedazzled from head-to-toe, Kaia Gerber opted for a simple custom Celine by Hedi Slimane slip dress, which is a lot more striking that the more voluminous looks we’ve seen on this red carpet.
As we know, Hedi Slimane loves to embellish his custom dresses, but on this occasion he wanted Kaia to dazzle us with her beauty, which was easy.
Tiffany & Co. jewels completed her look.
Candice Swanepoel is another Cannes regular who never lets me down.
The model looked radiant wearing a custom BOSS silver chainmail fringed dress which she styled with Messika jewels.
It’s the silhouette and the elegance for me.
I often forget that BOSS do make some stunning red carpet gowns.
Toni Garrn’s gold BOSS gown from the ‘Django’ Berlin Film Festival premiere still ranks as my absolute favourite.
Olivia DeJonge, who plays a young Priscilla Presley in this film, served up a movie star moment in this Gucci gown which now has me excited for this promo tour.
The dramatic sleeves and turquoise hue – while undoubtedly incredible features – aren’t even the sole focal points of the piece, as the ruffles took over this red carpet.
I’m sure you scanned the look and spotted the Gucci ‘Angel’ platforms, but I think they work with the ‘80s vibe of this gown.
Bvlgari necklace completed her look.
Wallis Day looked stunning wearing this Cucculelli Shaheen iridescent medallions dress.
This picture isn’t doing her much justice. The British actress was a vision in this dress, which of course came with matching gloves.
Isabeli Fontana never fails to leave me breathless.
The Brazilian model wore Roberto Cavalli Fall 2022 Couture strapless blush illusion gown accented with black micromaterial embroidery and touches of black ostrich feathers which hails from the Italian label’s capsule collection.
I have to say I’m more enamoured by everything that is fitted to her body, than the free-flowing skirt.
The illusion appears more successful on the skirt with a white background as you can see on the model below.
Isabeli accessorised with TASAKI jewels and Santoni sandals.
Noee Abita served up a more familiar custom Celine Couture by Hedi Slimane look in this rose-gold embellished draped dress.
You couldn’t miss Olivia Culpo who took over the red carpet with her Giambattista Valli Spring 2022 Haute Couture gown.
I know that a lot of people aren’t into the high-low gowns, but this considering the tulle fabrication, chiffon cape, and bow detail, this could’ve steered into bridal territory without this defining feature.
Chopard jewels completed her look.
Emmanuelle Béart’s easy elegance shone through wearing this Ashi Studio Spring 2022 Couture three-piece look.
Some might wish she added a statement necklace, but I think the Chopard earrings and bracelets were enough to keep this look in tune with her usual style.
Agathe Rousselle started off strong, but she is currently in cruise control.
She does look really cool in this Louis Vuitton suit. I especially love the patterned lining – no doubt inspired by the Fall 2022 collection
But this is Cannes.
I would’ve appreciated this a whole lot more for a screening or a photocall.
Louis Vuitton High Jewelry and Louis Vuitton sandals completed her look.
I keep looking at Camélia Jordana’s custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown and wish the lining under the embroidered, braided silk threads had been a match to her skin-tone.
Perhaps that wasn’t the original plan, but what you do you think?
Winnie Harlow must have had motion sickness by the time she exited the red carpet, because she put the tulle skirt of her Off-White Fall 2022 to work.
But who could blame her? This gown was destined to be taken for a spin.
At this moment I remember the Shakira and Beyonce’s ‘Beautiful Liar’ video when some people couldn’t tell them apart.
I didn’t get it at the time, but at this moment, she looks like she could be related to Bey.
I’m digressing because I’m really disappointed that this custom Mônot dress for Shakira.
It’s all just a little bit…forgettable.
She looks beautiful, but on this red carpet it won’t live long in the memory.
Casadei sandals, Chopard jewels and of course sheer gloves accessorised her look.
Izabel Goulart appeared to have a similar idea to Shakira with her David Koma Spring 2022 column dress and opera gloves combo.
I’ve always been a fan of Maye Musk’s style, and this pleated Dior gown styled with Dior accessories is no exception, but I’m not a fan of this black cherry lip for her.
It feels too harsh.
Stella Maxwell was giving us sleek, simple and sensual in her custom BOSS silk chiffon gown whose neckline was as deep at the open back.
Her diamond Messika necklace was the perfect way to ice out this look.
Adriana Lima turned up the volume on her maternity style with this Nicolas Jebran gown.
While I appreciate Sara Sampaio’s attempt at something different, none of the pieces of this Off-White Fall 2022 look or her styling of it complement each other.
Bvlgari jewels complete her look.
Let me know who your favourites are to help gauge who should be in the BDOTD post.
