Kristen Wiig is channeling her dark side. For the 2022 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, March 13, the Saturday Night Live alum debuted dark, raven hair in a pixie cut. Wiig is usually a blonde, so this was a surprising but welcome change to her look.
Kristen Wiig’s new pixie cut and color matched her outfit for the event. Wiig wore a lacy black dress from Rodarte that is completely see-through with a ruffle detailing at the chest. Underneath, Wiig wore black high-waist briefs. For makeup—which was done by makeup artist Jo Baker—Wiig wore a smudgy but soft smoky eye with a neutral, glossy lip. Wiig accessorized with a pair of black heels and silver drop earrings.

Kristen Wiig presented at the 27th annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, which was hosted by Taye Diggs and Nicole Byer. Wiig presented with Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar costars Annie Mumolo and Jamie Dornan. During their segment, Wiig and Mumolo pretended that they did not realize Jamie Dornan—who was nominated for his performance in Belfast—had been in any other movies besides Barb and Star.
While this is the first time Kristen Wiig has dyed her hair black, it is not the first time she’s taken a risk on the red carpet or debuted a pixie cut. For the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020, Wiig paired her bright red Valentino Haute Couture gown with massive ruffles on each side with a blonde pixie cut.
