Bella Hadid at Cannes Film Festival is always a spectacle (remember her Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown from last year?), and the Cannes Film Festival premiere for ‘The Innocent (L’Innocent)’ on Tuesday (May 24) in France was no exception.

The model wore an archival Versace gown which was originally designed by Gianni Versace for Austrian soprano and mezzo-soprano, Helga Dernesch, for a performance of the opera Salomé at Teatro alla Scala in Milan back in 1987.

Considering Law Roach is Bella’s stylist, we should not be surprised to see that he unearthed this gem. Probably from his own collection.

If I didn’t learn the history of this gown, I would never have guessed that it was 34 years old.

Gianni was a true master of his craft, and this strapless gown which features a draped bodice in black georgette and a panné velvet skirt with a flourish at the waist that has been crafted from a stiff taffeta band is a masterpiece.  A true work of art.

This is a classic case of old Hollywood glamour made modern.

Chopard jewels completed her look.

I’m not going to nitpick. I’m not going to nitpick.
