Before the 2022 Emmy Awards this evening, I thought I would give the closing ceremony of the 2022 Venice Film Festival the attention it deserved, because it has been one of the most exciting festivals we have seen in some time.
And that has been in part down to Tessa Thompson.
However, I wasn’t entirely sold on her final look from the Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Haute Couture collection.
The ivory silk taffeta asymmetrical dress accented with grape embroidery and vintage pearls appearing limp compared to the runway isn’t my main issue.
Once again, it’s the hair and makeup I’m not vibing with.
This goth-rock-glam look she has been presenting for the last two outings hasn’t worked for either look for me.
Her hair and makeup with the Elie Saab red dress remains my favourite, I wish she had kept the same energy throughout, because this greasy hair, “I slept with my makeup” look doesn’t complement the dress.
What are your thoughts on this final look from the face of Armani Beauty?
Should she have kept the runway styling and included the cream braided boater hat adorned with an embroidered golden dove and the crucifix earrings?
