“Catherine and I are delighted to be back in the United States and are extremely grateful to Governor Baker and The First Lady of Massachusetts for their warm welcome into Boston,” said the heir to the throne. “On this, our first overseas visit since the death of my grandmother, I would like to thank the people of Massachusetts and particularly of Boston for their many tributes paid to the late Queen,” he added. “She remembered her 1976 bicentennial visit with great fondness.”
Bicentennial of what, exactly? Oh yeah, that time we ditched the monarchy! AMERICA!!!! The prince added, “To the people of Boston, thank you. I’m so grateful to you for allowing us to host the second year of the Earthshot Prize in your great city. Catherine and I can’t wait to meet many of you in the days ahead.”
The pair looked simply spiffy, both in dark suits, William wearing his over his usual shirt and tie, with Kate Middleton opting for a dark turtleneck beneath her eggplant ensemble.
Dare I say Kate does suits even better than her husband? I also like the sparkly but not too flashy earrings, because they’re business-appropriate but also, if you met a princess, wouldn’t you want her to be wearing some jewels? I know I would. (This pair also happen to have belonged to Princess Diana, which is cool.)
Kate Middleton, please have some baked beans and tell us what you think!
