8 Amazon staples I’m loving this summer

Helllooo and happy Thursday!

How is your week going so far? Hot? Sticky? (Same. 😂) These past couple weeks have finally slowed down a bit, which has been really nice. I started dabbling in film photography (it’s been so fun!) and finished my latest book (The Last Thing He Told Me–which I stayed up WAY too late last night because I couldn’t put it down! It was so good! Unrealistic…yes, but definitely a page turner.)

Anyway, speaking of sticky weather and summer reads, I’ve got a few great staples to share with you that you’ll want to wear in this summer heat! A few of these items I ordered during Prime Day, but some I’ve been wearing all summer (and even before that!)

High Waisted Biker Shorts with Pockets

I bought these shorts in two colors–this cute green and black! They’re a lightweight buttery-ish (think Lulu-style) material, but they definitely hold you in. I’ve worn them to a HIIT workout twice this week. (Yes, after a multi-year hiatus, I’m trying to get back into workout classes. 😂) I love all the colors they come in and plan to bring them on our Yosemite trip in a few weeks!

Ribbed crop/sports bra:

I’ve owned this little crop for a couple of years now and it’s one of my favorites I always pull out of the drawer first! I love the longline length, that there is a built-in shelf bra with removable cups. Pairs perfectly with high waisted shorts and is perfect for lounge, yoga, pilates, and it has enough support for me to wear it for a HIIT workout too. (Although I think bustier girls probably will want more support for that!)

Sizing: Runs small, I wear mediums!

OK maybe NOT the best for summer heat, but certainly for summer airplane travel! 🙌🏼

This set is definitely giving me Varley vibes without the price tag. I don’t own a Vuori set so I cannot compare (obviously I’m sure theirs is much more luxurious 😂) BUT–I do love the aesthetic. This set is super comfy, and I’m so excited for it to be my new go-to for the plane! Comes in several colors! (Also sorry I didn’t have time to steam this when it came out of the box LOL)

Sizing: TTS for pants, went with smalls. Sweatshirt says it runs small on website so got a medium and happy with fit!

Tiered maxi dress

You remember my favorite black maxi dress? Well, I fell in love with the yellow striped version and decided to try this one out too! It makes me so happy and is a great, happy colorway for any color lover. It’s so comfortable and very breezy, so perfect for hot sticky days! Looks so cute with everything from sneakers to sandals to wedges. (More styling ideas here!)

Sizing: Can be a little tricky on this one. I ordered an XS in the yellow stripe and S in the black. Both totally work! The XS is fairly snug in the chest compared to the rest of the dress which is voluminous (but not too small on me) however, the size small is a bit roomy in the chest. Again, both sizes totally work. If you’re busty, don’t go down a size, but if you aren’t and you prefer a dress that is snug in the chest, consider going with your smaller size of the range.

Crochet knit coverup

I saw my friend Andi wear this on her Mexico trip and I ordered it immediately! It’s so much fun and comes in so many cute colors! Very retro and makes me feel like Daisy Jones or Meghan Draper. 😍 Note that the style and cut differs from color to color!

Sizing: TTS. Wearing small.

Round aviator sunnies

I have ordered blue light glasses from this brand before, but didn’t realize they made sunglasses. If you like a Ray Ban look but don’t want to shell out the money (or you’re like me, and you just want a cheap pair to bring on vacation) you will love these! Are they the same quality? Of course not–but for a backup pair, they’re exactly what I was looking for, and I won’t cry if they accidentally get scratched or fall in the river on our Yosemite trip!

Beach mesh tote bag

This beach bag has unexpectedly been one of my favorite buys of the summer. The perfect bag for travel as well–it takes up no room (less than a reusable grocery bag!) I’ve actually been using it as a diaper bag for June when we go out and about because it’s so cute and holds so much stuff. I feel like I’m always beating up my beach totes, so having an inexpensive one that is ideal since it’s always set on the ground, inevitably has cheddar bunny crumbs at the bottom, etc! 😉 Lots of colors, too!
