Let me set the scene. Kendall Jenner arrives at a gas station and begins filling up her own tank. She is wearing a Western-style denim shirtdress and striped over-the-knee Bottega Veneta boots. She has a rolled-up magazine tucked under her arm. We have to be in the middle of some kind of advertisement, right?
Let’s start with the outfit because, frankly, if Jenner isn’t being paid by Bottega Veneta already, then she really should be. These $10,000 blue and yellow Canalazzo boots (clearly the stars of this show) are just the latest of a long string of Bottega ’fits Jenner has been seen in lately. Most recently she donned a stunning leopard-print dress by the brand to attend her sister Kim Kardashian’s birthday party, per British Vogue.

Next, are we meant to believe that Kendall Jenner pumps her own gas? In $10,000 boots? Be serious. And what’s the magazine for? So she has something to read while she drives? As a person who studies the KarJenners and their various brand partnerships professionally, this does not look like an accidental run-in with the paparazzi to me.
This is all just speculation of course, but if you ask me, this smells a lot like an upcoming Bottega Veneta ad campaign starring Kendall Jenner and a signature boot. But what do I know?
