Ariana Madix managed to cash in on Scandoval, and there’s nothing wrong with that!
The Vanderpump Rules star reportedly netted upwards of $1 million on the heels of her breakup, in part through lucrative brand deals and sponsorships with the likes of Duracell. And here’s the kicker: That total doesn’t even include the money Madix made during her debut week on Broadway playing Roxie Hart in Chicago.
Some were critical of her cash grab following the scandal, but in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Madix revealed she’s “not in a position to say no right now.”
“My team would be like, ‘This is a really great offer from Bic, look at it.’ And I’d say, ‘It is a fantastic offer, but even if it wasn’t, I’m not in a position to say no right now, because I have to make myself financially stable from now until kingdom come,’” she told the outlet.

The Vindication of Ariana Madix
Before Vanderpump Rules, before Scandoval, before the (almost) 2 million Instagram followers, she was a master of reinvention. The newest version of Ariana Madix? Stronger, freer, and—yes—richer.
Ariana Madix went on to describe the anxiety she felt immediately after the breakup, given that she’d recently invested in opening a sandwich shop called Something About Her with Vanderpump costar Katie Maloney.
“I was like, ‘I’m not okay,’” Madix said. “There’s no one here about to bail me out. I don’t have rich parents. I don’t have an inheritance from anybody who’s passed.”
Those who are critical of how much money and exposure she’s been able to derive from the fallout of Scandoval, Madix said, “don’t want women to work.”
“I think those people are confused about what it is that I do for a living,” she added. “Those are acting jobs. I’m doing the same job I have done for many years; I’m just working more. And that’s why I signed up for Vanderpump Rules in the first place: to work more.”
