For the Dior Haute Couture collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri embraced the competition of the Paris Summer Olympics with a celebration of all the athletes past and present who have fought against prejudice in the name of equality in sports. Looking to the power of clothing and how it aids the body in movement, the House invited guests to the Musee Rodin for a presentation whose looks balanced the elegance and strength of a professional athlete.

Marianna Hewitt gives Wonderland an inside look at her time getting ready for such a monumental event, chatting to us along the way.

Hi Marianna! How are you doing and how is Paris?
Paris is absolutely wonderful! The city is busy as Couture Week kicks off, and there’s an electric energy in the air with the upcoming Olympics this summer. Being here for Couture Week is a dream come true. Although I’ve attended many Dior shows, this is my first Dior Couture show, and I feel incredibly honoured to be part of it.

Can you tell us about your look for the Dior Haute Couture show?
I had two options but ultimately went with a stunning sheer gauze layered look that’s just perfect for the summer heat. It’s definitely one of my favourite Dior looks to date — elegant, light, and so chic!

What’s your typical pre-show routine?
My routine changes a bit, but today was all about zen energy. I listened to calming frequencies while getting ready and sipped on an iced matcha. It set the perfect tone for an exciting day ahead.

What’s your favourite part of fashion shows or what do you get most excited about?
My mom usually comes with me to Fashion Week, and she joined me for the ride over to Musee Rodin today. She always reminds me to soak in every moment and enjoy the experience. While I’m inside, she’s watching the livestream and we have the best time chatting about everything afterward. It’s such a special tradition for us, talking about who I saw, how it was, and obsessing over our favourite looks.

Did you have any expectations going into the show?
I went in with an open mind and no expectations, just eager to be there. Once I capture some content, I focus on being fully present and enjoying the moment. I feel so grateful to be invited and love people-watching to see everyone’s outfits!

Is there a look that stands out to you from the runway?
So many looks were breathtaking, but I really loved the beauty looks paired with the outfits. The fresh makeup and loose, wet-looking braids were stunning, and I can’t wait to try recreating that style myself.

What makes a show memorable to you?
The venue and music are key elements that make a show unforgettable. The atmosphere they create sets the tone and enhances the entire experience. The combination of a beautiful setting like Musee Rodin today, music, and seeing how the overall theme comes together is what makes a show truly memorable for me. Plus, the energy and creativity in the air make each show unique and special.
