Emma Laird made quite the impression at the Venice Film Festival this year, where she was promoting her new film, ‘The Brutalist,’ serving up two distinct fashion moments, both courtesy of Louis Vuitton.

Photocall: Bold and Unconventional

I know many of you might be raising an eyebrow at Emma’s Louis Vuitton Resort 2025 ensemble—a grey structured top paired with balloon pants, cinched by a black leather belt, and finished off with leather high boots. It’s certainly not everyone’s cup of tea. But here’s the thing: Emma is radiating confidence in this look. It’s daring, it’s unconventional, and she doesn’t get lost in it. She’s commanding attention, much like Jennifer Connelly often does with her LV choices.

This outfit isn’t easy to pull off, but Emma makes it work. She’s not overwhelmed by the structured silhouette or the daring proportions; instead, she owns it. If I could change one thing, it would be the boots—I think solid black boots would have been a more cohesive choice over the tan and black ones she wore.

LV Volt stud earrings and Tumbler ring in white gold and diamonds from Louis Vuitton Fine Jewelry completed her edgy ensemble.

Premiere: A Graceful Transformation

For the premiere, Emma took a completely different fashion direction. She transformed from avant-garde risk-taker to a vision of grace, wearing a black velvet bustier Louis Vuitton dress paired with a jade green metallic mesh tunic adorned with rhinestones. The ensemble managed to blend contemporary style with a hint of old Hollywood glamour, despite the added complexity of posing in a piece with such exaggerated hips.

This look was further elevated by Louis Vuitton’s Fossils bracelet from the Deep Time High Jewelry collection, featuring a 10.57-carat oval-cut sapphire and diamonds, along with the Idylle High Jewelry earrings and La Star du Nord ring.

This was a beautiful, sophisticated look that was perfect for the premiere setting.

Call me crazy, but I prefer the photocall look. It feels more aligned with Emma’s style personality—bold, fearless, and unique. However, the premiere look was undoubtedly a case of the right look for the right occasion.

What is most exciting is how Emma showcased her versatility at Venice, proving that she’s a rising star to watch, both on screen and on the red carpet.
