Daisy Edgar-Jones Wore Gucci To The 'On Swift Horses' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Daisy Edgar-Jones made a breathtaking appearance at the ‘On Swift Horses’ premiere during the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, wearing a diaphanous pleated gown from Gucci, inspired by the Resort 2025 runway finale.

The ombre blue tones, transitioning from light to dark, created an ethereal look that perfectly suited her graceful presence. But one question lingers—did the gown need to be sheer?

If you could ask Gucci’s creative director Sabato de Sarno anything about this gown, that might be it.

While the gown’s airy, breezy quality is undeniable, I’m sure a lot of you will believe that sheer factor was unnecessary. The subtle lining on the top half works, and had the same treatment extended to the rest of the gown, the light-to-dark ombre effect would have been even more striking. The look’s “lighter-than-air” feeling, which already comes from the flowing cape, could have been preserved without sacrificing any of the gown’s allure.

That being said, I personally love the gown. It’s reminiscent of Daisy’s ‘Chloe’ look while promoting ‘Twister’. The pleats and flowy cape add a touch of romance, and despite the sheer element, the look is still undeniably elegant. The gown’s movement and the gradient of blues make it stand out, delivering a stunning, ethereal red carpet moment that perfectly suits her understated, yet captivating style.

Daisy completed the look with Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany ear clips and rings, along with an Elsa Peretti® ring.
