2024 People’s Choice Country Awards

The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards took center stage at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, celebrating the best in country music. While the top honours went to the industry’s brightest, the red carpet had its own set of stars—some shining, and some fading into the background. Here’s a look at the night’s most notable (and questionable) style choices.

Denim Dream or Denim Disaster?

I had to do a double-take when I first saw Shania Twain—I almost mistook her for Lisa Rinna, mostly because of her hair. Shania sported a custom Levi’s ensemble, consisting of a denim halter top and mermaid skirt accented with crystals, paired with matching opera gloves. It’s a look that feels right for the occasion, as the People’s Choice Country Awards aren’t typically a high-fashion spectacle. Do I love it? Not exactly. But there’s something undeniably charming about Shania’s energy that brings the look to life. A Fabergé ring rounding out her bold yet questionable choice.

Déjà Vu in Sequins

Miranda Lambert stepped onto the red carpet in Alex Perry—a designer she’s worn time and again. This time it was a brown sequin dress with a plunging neckline. While undeniably flattering, there was an overwhelming feeling of déjà vu. And while it works, it’s time for Miranda to switch things up a bit, and improve on the styling.

Golden Repeat

Kelsea Ballerini opted for a Roberto Cavalli gown featuring the iconic ‘Ray of Gold’ print—a look we’ve seen multiple times from the designer. The pattern is stunning, but much like Miranda, Kelsea left me craving something fresh and different.

Jenna Blake jewels completed her look.

French Maid Faux Pas

MacKenzie Porter wore a Bronx and Banco black dress featuring a flounced ruffled white layer beneath the skirt. The look immediately brought Halle Bailey’s Nicole + Felicia dress to mind, but unfortunately, this version leaned too far into French maid territory.

A Touch of Fringe Flair

Tanner Adell brought a playful touch to the red carpet, wearing a PatBO mini dress adorned with hand-beaded pearls and fringe, styled with white boots. It had personality and suited the country music vibe well, but in terms of high-impact fashion, it didn’t quite make the cut for me.

On such a big night for country music, the fashion felt a little flat, with memorable moments. While each celebrity brought their own spin to the event, none of these looks screamed “best of the week.”
