If you’re anything like me, when the photos from the London Film Festival screening of ‘We Live In Time’ surfaced, your first thought might have been, “Wait, is Florence Pugh really wearing the same dress she wore to the New York screening last month?” Then, upon closer inspection, I realized the truth—Andrew Garfield was posing alongside a cardboard cutout of his co-star. I couldn’t help but laugh. He even used the exact image I had in my own post. Clearly, Andrew was missing his bestie during this press tour.

I know some of you aren’t sold on the Andrew Garfield x Valentino x Alessandro Michele collaboration, but this custom Valentino suit he wore is making me nostalgic for his 2023 awards season run. That was when he first introduced us to his love of ’70s-inspired suits, and clearly, he’s still having fun with the era’s aesthetics once again.

This latest look is no exception. The wide-leg trousers and oversized lapels are quintessentially ’70s, but it’s the attention to detail that really sets it apart. The vintage-inspired floral print shirt paired with a contrasting scarf keeps the look vibrant without feeling costume-y. I love how he manages to modernise the whole look offering a nod to the past without making it feel like a throwback or a forced homage.

Andrew has a talent for balancing bold, retro-inspired choices with a contemporary sensibility, and this Valentino suit is yet another example of that. For anyone doubting the union between Andrew and Valentino, this look just might make you reconsider. It’s retro, it’s fun, and somehow, it’s exactly what I expected from him—and that’s why it works.
